Spiderweb Software has updated its role playing game for Mac OS X
to version 1.1, and it’s now a Universal binary. The update is free for users of the game.
A fantasy-themed RPG set in a world previously explored in other Avernum games, Avernum 4 is an all-new continuation of the epic series that focuses on an underground world inhabited by outcasts from above, as well as horrible monsters and magical creatures.
The 1.1 update runs natively on both Intel and PowerPC-based Macs and handles screen resolution switching better than before, according to the developer.
Avernum 4 was recently inducted into Macworld’s
2006 Game Hall of Fame.
The 1.1 update measures 20.1 MB and is available for download from Spiderweb’s Web site. A demo version is also available.
Avernum 4 requires Mac OS X v10.1 or later, 50MB available RAM and 120MB hard disk space.
