SightSpeed has released enhancements to SightSpeed 5.0, their Internet video communication service for Mac and PC. SightSpeed is free in its basic format, and costs $4.95 per month for the Pro plan.
SightSpeed lets users make unlimited free video and voice calls to one another, with video mail and recording features as well. The Pro plan adds features like multi-party conferencing, more recording and storage capabilities, online reports and more.
Enhancements to the 5.0 release (which debuted over the summer) include the ability to record three minute long video messages for e-mail and video blogs for Pro users (twice as long as before); better visibility of “Click to Call” buttons and easier ability to transfer them into social networking pages like MySpace; HTML snippet copying and pasting for SightSpeed-produced video messages; redesigned notifications; greater visibility for a beta service called SightSpeedTV; and more.
System requirements call for a 1GHz or faster processor (Intel Macs are supported), Mac OS X v10.3.9 and a compatible Web camera (including Apple iSight).
Editor’s note: Edited to reflect that the update offers enhancements to the existing 5.0 version.
