Nova media on Wednesday announced the release of Address Book plug-ins that provide support for an addition 37 mobile phone models made by Sony Ericsson. The plug-ins cost €6.50 (US$8.61).
Mac OS X enables you to send Short Message Service (SMS) messages and dial a number using a Bluetooth-equipped mobile phone. Unfortunately, Address Book doesn’t support some newer phone models, and nova media has developed this plug-ins collection accordingly. What’s more, the software supports incoming call actions such as answering a call or routing the caller to voice mail.
All of the models this software adds support for are manufactured by Sony Ericsson, but nova media said they’re working on support for phones from other manufacturers as well.
This product is similar to another in nova media’s arsenal: iSync phone plug-ins, which enable you to synchronize address and calendar data with more than 55 mobile phones not natively supported by iSync.
Address Book plug-ins are Universal binaries that require Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
