Karelia Software has released Sandvox 1.1, a new version of their visual Web page editor for Mac OS X. The new version is a free update for registered users. Sandvox costs $49 and $79 for the Standard and Pro editions, respectively.
Sandvox enables people who aren’t Web page development experts to create visually exciting pages while using live text editing features. It works with any Web service provider, features drag and drop capabilities, supports “pagelets,” includes dozens of built-in style templates, lets you post your own Weblog or podcast, share photos and more. The Pro version adds raw HTML editing capabilities and other advanced functionality.
New to Sandvox 1.1 are eight new site designs, a more thorough built-in Help, Italian and Simplified Chinese localization, a new “Snapshot” feature that saves your work in progress, better support for Adobe Flash files, and more.
In related news, Karelia’s five-pack of bonus Sandvox designs have been updated, improved for compatibility with the latest version of Internet Explorer (IE).
Sandvox requires Mac OS X v10.4 or later. It’s a Universal binary that runs natively on PowerPC and Intel-based Macs.
