Mariner Software has released a public beta of a new version of its screenwriting software for Mac OS X, Montage. Montage 1.1 is expected to be released at Macworld Expo in January. It costs $139.95 and will be a free update for registered users.
Montage is a special word processor adapted specifically for the needs of scriptwriters. You can select from pre-formatted templates for film, TV and theater, then you can use Montage to submit, track, and send queries, synopses and scripts to industry contacts (hundreds are included). The software integrates with Apple’s Address Book.
New to this release of Montage is production-style scene numbering, .Mac integration, improvements in importing Final Draft and text scripts, an improved “SmartType” system, assignable keywords and more.
A trial version of the public beta of Montage 1.1 is available for download.
Montage’s system requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, 128MB RAM, 20MB hard disk space, and a G4 processor.
