Rabidlab has released Dodge That Anvil, a game for Mac OS X and Windows that puts you in control of an industrious cartoon “Harvester” rabbit who must save his fellow denizens of Eastwarren from starvation while dodging anvils and other objects that fall from the sky. The full version costs $19.99.
Rendered isometrically, Dodge that Anvil has you running around patches of fertile ground as you harvest carrots and other goodies for your lapine friends. As you do, anvils fall from the sky — you have to dodge them, collecting powerups to protect you from the hail of unsafe objects, such as hard hats, protective vests and more. You can also get dynamite, clocks that temporarily stop time and other powerups along the way.
Rabidlab debuted Dodge That Anvil at the 2006 Independent Games Festival earlier this year. The game won the Adultswim.com award in the festival’s main competition. Dodge That Anvil was created using Shockwave 3D technology, and is available as a playable online game or for download.
System requirements for Dodge that Anvil call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later, G3/500MHz or faster, 64MB available RAM and 20MB hard disk space. A playable demo is available for download; you can also play it online.
