IDG World Expo announced Thursday that the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus will return to Macworld Conference & Expo in January for its third appearance. The Bus has spent the past ten years touring the country and providing free workshops to kids in schools and community outreach facilities. Macworld Expo runs from January 8 – 12, 2007 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif.
The Bus is a complete mobile recording and multimedia studio — two, in fact — laden with Macintosh gear and Mac-compatible software and hardware. Attendees to Macworld Expo can participate in daily tours that will feature introductions to some of the equipment that’s used on the bus.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, bus organizers will debut the book and accompanying DVD Come Together: The Official John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Guide to Music and Video , featuring a signing with the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir on Tuesday. And Lennon Bus engineer Steve Miller will provide an in-depth presentation on the bus’s mission and what’s inside at the Music and Sound Stage on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
What’s more, the Lennon Bus will serve as the backdrop to performances from musicians during all four days of the Expo. And visitors to the Bus will receive a free gift bag that includes Maxell products, Guitar Player magazine and other material.
IDG World Expo and Macworld publisher Mac Publishing are both owned by International Data Group (IDG).
