Griffin Technology on Thursday announced it’s shipping the Elevator, a desktop stand for laptop computers. It costs $39.99.
The Elevator uses a 1/2-inch thick clear polycarbonate crossbar to hold two upright 1/4-inch thick aluminum stands covered in a matte silver finish. The stand raises your laptop computer 5 1/2 inches off the desktop to decrease neck strain and improve air circulation beneath the computer, which can aid in cooling.
The extra space underneath the laptop comes in handy for storing an external keyboard away when it’s not in use, or for keeping other office supplies like staplers or snacks away from your coworkers.
The Elevator is designed to work with all Mac laptops and any laptop that’s 10 inches wide and wider.
