Amazon.com on Thursday released its “Best of 2006” list which includes the bestselling, most positively reviewed, most wished-for and favorite gift products, as determined by Amazon.com customers in 2006. Apple’s iPods topped various aspects of the list.
In the category of Bestselling products, Apple’s iPods (combined) won out in the electronics category, joining products like World of Warcraft (in the software category) and Levi’s 501 Button Fly Jeans (the winner of the apparel category).
The 30GB video iPod in black was the most heavily favored electronic gadget in the Most Wished-for Products, alongside Nintendo’s new Wii video game console (winner in the Computer & Video Games category) and the Baby Einstein Discover & Play Activity Gym (winner in the Sports & Outdoors category).
The 30GB video iPod was also the winner in electronics for the Most Popular Gift Products as voted by Amazon.com customers in 2006. The two-disc collector’s edition of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (in DVDs) and Illinois senator Barack Obama’s The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream (in Books).
