RadTech on Tuesday introduced new models of its DriveMate external hard disk drive line and the Impact line of hard drive enclosures.
The DriveMate is a compact, 1-inch hard drive that is available with and without hardware-based secure token encryption. New is an 8GB model featuring 64-bit encryption, for $144.95.
The Impact line features shock-protected enclosures that sport either USB 2.0 and FireWire 400 or USB 2.0 and FireWire 800 interface ports. Inside are Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drive mechanisms in either 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch form factors. Features include a 2.0 millimeter thick aluminum shell and elastomer disk drive mounting mechanism.
The Impact comes in non-encrypted and encrypted versions, and can be daisy-chained to other FireWire devices. Prices range from $89.95 to $139.95. That price is for the enclosure and accessories only — hard disk drive mechanisms are not included.
