Mopar, DaimlerChrysler’s original equipment manufacturer, announced Thursday that it’s expanded the availability of its iPod Integration Kit for Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicle owners.
The iPod Integration Kit provides direct iPod connectivity in factory-installed Chrysler Group automobile sound systems. The kit features a custom cable port installed in the vehicle’s glove box, that connects to an iPod, providing charging capabilities and enabling the iPod to play music through the vehicle audio system.
The Mopar iPod Integration Kit enables you to browse your iPod music collection’s playlists, song titles and artists from the radio display face, using either the audio system’s controls or steering wheel-mounted controls. The kit is compatible with iPod, iPod mini, iPod photo, iPod nano and video iPod models.
The iPod Integration Kit works with select model year 2006 newer Chrysler, Jeep and Doge vehicles, and is available at Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships. Prices range from $139 to $215 depending on the particular vehicle the kit is being installed in. Mopar offers two integrated systems and two “FM-bounded” systems depending on the vehicle.
