ViewSonic on Monday introduced the PJ258D, a Digital Light Processor (DLP) based front projector that integrates an iPod dock. Coming the first calendar quarter of 2007, the PJ258D costs $999.
The PJ258D weighs less than 4 pounds and displays a 1024 x 768 image. It projects at 2,000 lumens of brightness with a 2000:1 contrast ratio. A docking station connects the iPod to the projector, so you can use the projector to view video stored an iPod without having to go through a computer first.
The PJ258D also features S-Video and VGA connections, so you can hook up to other video sources, such as a Mac or PC, DVD player or video game console.
ViewSonic’s Web site had not been updated with information about the PJ258D as Macworld posted this article.
