FM: Nexus released a new version of Inspector that lets FileMaker developers customize and extend reports using the database analysis tool. Inspector 1.6 is a free update for all existing users. The software costs $399 for single users and requires FileMaker Pro 8 Advanced.
In addition to the Inspector update, FM:Nexus also released the free InspectorLite examination tool. Available for download, InspectorLite aims to give FileMaker developers a faster, more precise look into what the applications and solutions they̻re building via browser-style navigation and a user-friendly layout.
“InspectorLite helps developers quickly zero-in on part of their solution, for example, by quickly searching for, and immediately hot linking to, just about any element or calculation,” said FM:Nexus president Vincenzo Menanno.
FM:Nexus originally developed InspectorLite for attendees at FileMaker’s 2006 developer conference, but the tool proved so popular that FileMaker asked the company to make it available to all of its developers. “We’re thrilled to make InspectorLite available to all, since doing so is consistent with our quest to empower developers to build better solutions, faster,” Menanno said.
Also, FM:Nexus began demonstrating and accepting beta testers for Dragon Web Surveys and the FM:Nexus Web Services plug-in. The former helps Web developers build flexible surveys into their Web sites; the latter lets FileMaker developers quickly implement standards-based interoperability with Web Services.
FM:Nexus is among the companies exhibiting at the FileMaker Pavilion (booth #S1236) at Macworld Expo.
