If you happen to live near the California cities of of Universal City, Sunnyvale, Anaheim or Fountain Valley and you’re an avid World of Warcraft enthusiast, you may be interested in plans to hold midnight sales of the new Burning Crusade expansion pack at retail stores in those locations.
World of Warcraft (WoW) is the preeminently popular Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) in which you assume the role of heroes of various races depicted in Blizzard’s long-popular Warcraft game series. Released simultaneously for the Mac and PC, WoW has garnered millions of players since its release in 2004 and is particularly popular with Macintosh gamers.
Blizzard will release the long-awaited WoW expansion pack, the Burning Crusade, on January 16, 2007, and expects to have immediate availability of the game at stores around the country. But WoW enthusiasts located near those four California locations can get the game extra early, if they’re willing to stay up late.
The Burning Crusade adds additional content to the game, including a new continent that players with high-level characters can explore, new races, new professions, new quests, new magical items, new monsters and much more.
Locations to get the game include the GameStop/EB Games store at 1000 Universal Studios Blvd. in Universal City, Calif. and three Fry’s Electronics locations — 1077 E. Arques Ave. in Sunnyvale, 10800 Kalama River Ave in Fountain Valley, and 3370 E. La Palma in Anaheim. These stores will be selling the game on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 at 12:00 a.m. Pacific.
