SubRosaSoft released MacForensicsLab version 2.0 this week at Macworld Expo. MacForensicsLab is a complete suite of forensics and analysis tools in one cohesive package. Designed as a Universal Binary, MacForensicsLab version 2.0 supports forensic activities on a wide array of computing platforms and storage devices.
MacForensicsLab is designed to support forensics activities on Macintosh, Windows, and Linux-based computers and storage devices without the risk of being vulnerable to dangers that would affect a PC.
MacForensicsLab 2.0 includes several new features. A new tool filters pictures with skin tones matching. It can also filter possible Social Security and credit card numbers. The new version enables investigators to perform multiple tasks at once. A salvage function now allows users to add their own file types. There is a new built-in SQL database engine for managing more data. A new reporting function lets users exclude or include specific items.
MacForensicsLab is available for $995 and requires Mac OS X version 10.3 or higher.
