Avanquest Software on Wednesday announced the acquisition of Nova Development, developer and publisher of Mac software like Art Explosion and Print Explosion. They’re also the retail distributors of Parallels Desktop for Mac.
Avanquest said that its acquisition of Nova will make it one of the top five consumer software publishers in the United States, excluding Microsoft, and #1 in ten categories based on sales by dollars. In 2006 Nova’s annual sales totalled $32 million and the company projects more than $38 million for 2007.
Terms of the acquisition were not revealed, but Avanquest announced that Nova founders Roger Bloxberg and Todd Helfstein will both become Avanquest Software shareholders and will continue to hold executive management positions.
