Line 6 announced two new products for musicians at the NAMM tradeshow in Anaheim, Calif.— GearBox Plug-in 3.1 and Floor Pod Plus.
GearBox Plug-in 3.1 is now available with RTAS, Audio Unit and VST compatibility, making the software compatible with most Digital Audio Workstations. While the plug-in comes equipped with many pre-programmed presets for guitar, bass and vocal, users are able to create and save their own. Presets can also be saved to the Pod XT Live and other Line 6 devices.
GearBox comes in a silver and gold bundle. The $419 silver bundle includes 18 guitar amps and 24 cabinet models; five bass amps; six vintage and modern mic preamps; and 30 stompbox effects. The $699 gold bundle includes 78 guitar amps and 24 cabinets; 28 bass amps and 22 bass cabinets; six vintage and modern mic preamps; and 80 stompbox effects.
In addition to the software, Line 6 also announced the Floor Pod Plus, a new amp and effects modeling stompbox. The Floor Pod Plus can be used as a multi-effect unit in front of an amp or PA system or as a practice system.
The $420 Floor Pod Plus has six delay models, a full-time compressor, and 20 other effects including chorus, flanger, and reverb. The device also features 120 custom presets, an onboard tuner, CD/MP3 input, and MIDI in/out.
“We are really tuned in to what musicians really want,” said Mark McCrite, Line 6 Product Line Manager. “Line 6 gives users a huge palette of sounds and tones to work with.”
