CMP Media on Monday announced that world renown game developer Shigeru Miyamoto will deliver the keynote address of the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 07, which happens on Thursday, March 8, 2007 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif.
Miyamoto is Nintendo’s Senior Marketing Director and General Manager, Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development. He’s the creator of Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, Wave Race and Pikmin games for Nintendo game consoles. He’s one of the world’s most celebrated game designers, and was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences’ Hall of Fame in 1998.
Miyamoto will “reveal how a singular creative vision drives his work, not only in terms of his world-renown software, but also in generating key technologies, including the current global phenomena, Nintendo DS and Wii. And he will challenge the audience to apply his approach in their own distinctive styles,” according to CMP.
The GDC gathers game developers from around the world in a series of seminars and summits to discuss the art, science and business of video game development. It takes place in the Moscone Center’s North and West Halls from Monday, March 5, 2007 through Friday, March 9, 2007.
