Olive Media Products on Monday announced that it is including 160GB hard disk drives in its Symphony music server. Olive manufactures high-end music servers for audiophiles. The 160GB Symphony costs $1,119.
Designed to look like a home entertainment component, the Symphony features a built-in CD-R drive and can rip music in lossless quality to the hard disk drive. It features optical audio outputs, support for Olive’s Sonata wireless music receiver, software to help you categorize your music, the ability to sync to an iPod using USB, and more.
Olive claims the 160GB drive can store up to 450 CDs in lossless quality. The Symphony is designed to operate quietly, and runs without a fan. It comes 7 watts of power in play mode, and operates the hard drive “inaudibly” to keep noise emission to a minimum.
