Chronos LC on Monday announced the release of SOHO Labels & Envelopes 2.0, a significant upgrade to their label and envelope design and printing application. It costs $39.99, with upgrades priced at $19.99.
SOHO Labels & Envelopes lets you design and print labels, envelopes, letterhead and more. It includes thousands of photos, objects and vector clip-art images, comes with 50 Bitstream fonts, pre-designed sets of labels, envelopes and letterhead, and more. It’s compatible with more than 1,500 label and format stocks including those from Avery, PaperDirect, Dymo, APLI, Formtec and others. You can use it to print disk labels, video and audio tape labels, inventory barcodes and much more.
New in this release is a revamped user interface that makes it easier to use and less cluttered, all in a streamlined single window. The Smart Inspector is a context-sensitive tool that shows what you currently need and positions itself close to the work at hand; the Project Wizard lets you see the kind of project you want to create; the Favorites Bin lets you store and re-use graphics and shape artwork; the Text Bin recycles text styles for titles, headings, captions and more.
New design tools have been included like object grouping; unlimited layers; “super-masks” that give you fine control over how the mask is applied to an image; more than 30 special effects; photo fine-tuning and photo cropping; crop zooming; grid overlay/underlay; lock & unlock objects; perspective too and more.
A 30-day trial version is ready for download. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later, 40MB hard disk space (1.2GB for full clip art collection); DVD-ROM drive; optional inkjet or laser printer. The software is a Universal binary.
