Shutterfly, the online photo sharing and printing service, on Monday announced a new printing service for scrapbook enthusiasts.
The new Shutterfly Digital Scrapbooking Printing Solution provides scrapbookers with the ability to upload layouts into photo books that they can then order to be printed with full bleed or die cut window covers. What’s more, Shutterfly has formed a “Digital Scrapbooking Advisory Team” to offer advice on how to cater to the scrapbooking audience.
Up to now, most scrapbookers have relied either on local digital printing using their own printers or sending out for high-quality copies of their digital prints, then copying and pasting into scrapbooks the old fashioned way. Now, with Shutterfly, users can have an end-to-end printing system that provides them with professionally printed books using scrapbook layouts.
For now, Shutterfly offers four book formats, including two square-book formats, 12 x 12 Memory Books and 8 x 8 Story Books, each with personalized photo covers. Two rectangle-book formats, 8.5 x 11 Classic Books and 5 x 7 Casual Books, are offered in cloth, suede or leather cover choices. All feature a die-cut window to reveal the title page.
The software that drives the digital scrapbooking features on Shutterfly is Web based and is fully compatible with both Mac OS X and Windows. No local software download is required.
