MyPublisher has announced the release of BookMaker 2.0, a software tool that lets you make your own photo books. BookMaker is free to download and use; books are printed using MyPublisher’s book printing service.
MyPublisher’s previous offering for Mac users existed as a plug-in for iPhoto, the photo management application developed as part of Apple’s iLife suite. With the plug-in installed, users could select MyPublisher instead of using iPhoto’s built-in book printing service export features. MyPublisher offers a different array of designs, layouts, and different pricing options from the book printing services featured through iPhoto.
MyPublisher’s services enable users to order softcover and hardcover books with linen or leather covers, printed in different sizes. The service is available in the United States, UK and Europe.
BookMaker 2.0 — a standalone application — expands the scope of MyPublisher’s capabilities compared to the iPhoto plug-in. Users can access more cover designs, cover styles and colors, as well as more book sizes. The software lets you drag and drop photos into one of 120 different custom layouts, or you can use an auto build feature. Manual build lets you choose background colors, exclusive fonts and themed covers such as weddings, birthdays and babies.
To welcome Mac users, MyPublisher is offering pricing specials on photo books — 50 percent off orders over $100 and 25 percent off orders over $50.
