Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO) has announced the release of their second-generation HomeDock Deluxe iPod dock — a device that enables you to integrate your iPod with your home entertainment center. It costs $149.99.
The HomeDock Deluxe connects to any TV or stereo and comes with AV and S-Video cables. The device features a wireless remote control and a dock connector that attaches any dock connector-equipped iPod, but the HomeDock Deluxe is particularly well suited to video iPods. This new version of the HomeDock Deluxe is shipping a month earlier than DLO originally anticipated.
New to the second-generation HomeDock Deluxe is the ability to navigate the video contents of your iPod using the television screen instead of the iPod display. The HomeDock Deluxe also displays album art on your TV, touts an improved interface that features new screen savers and visualizers, 12 new color themes, and on-TV playlist creation using the “My Jukebox” feature. The remote control has been improved with a scratch-resistant coating, as well. An auxiliary input port has also been added, so you can attach a “visiting” MP3 player or other portable device.
The HomeDock Deluxe supports ten different languages, has a software remote-feedback status light, and now uses a quick-start screen saver that you can activate via the remote.
