What’s the hold-up anyway? Well, we know that Sony’s been having a shortage on the blue-lasers that give its optical format its colorful name—that’s also the reason behind the extremely small number of PS3s that will be available at launch. And, one suspects, the high visibility of the PS3 outweighs the standalone player that costs half-again as much, and doesn’t even play games.
