I got my Nintendo DS Lite and the people rejoyced

Dan can officially start his own bout of jealousy with his DS Phat. I have my DS Lite, in my hot little hands. It came on Wednesday as promised. I’ve been playing with it since.

It’s been said before, but the polar white version (the only one available in the US) is very reminiscent of the iPod. It’s got a hard white plastic shell that just oozes it. Its headphone port even reminds me of the old third generation iPod style with connectors for the remote control pins. Rumors of a headset are floating around, but nothing has surfaced.

For games, I originally bought Brain Age, Mario Kart DS, and the New Super Mario Bros. They’re all great choices. My Zelda addiction kept gnawing at me though, and without a DS title available yet, something had to be done. I can’t wait until November. Are you crazy? Thanks to the Gameboy Advance compatibility slot, I was able to plunk down for Zelda: the Minish Cap. That’s my obsession for the moment.

Any self respecting Mac or iPod user looking for mobile games needs to get a DS Lite. Despite my love for GTA, I just can’t endorse the PSP, the DS Lite is where it’s at.
