I see you’ve played knifey-gunny before

Perhaps you’re familiar with the old adage, “never bring a knife to a gun fight.” If not, that’s okay—I may have just made it up. Fortunately, with the G.R.A.D., you’ll never be without either. Except should you be searched by security personnel, in which case you will not only be without either, you will also probably be without either in a ten foot cell.

The G.R.A.D. looks like your run-of-the-mill switchblade knife; the blade is spring-loaded and pops out, scaring the crap out of your adversary. But the G.R.A.D. also packs a surprise, in the form of five .22 rounds loaded in a revolver style cartridge in the knife’s handle. Pulling a trigger on the handle will fire one round out small holes in the knife’s hilt. You can also find a video of the G.R.A.D. in action at the link above.

Why, might you ask, does anybody require a knife-gun? Well, why not? I mean, come on people, convergence is the way of the future: we don’t ask why our cell phones take pictures or play music, do we? We just accept the fact that one device can have many uses. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to our weekly slice-‘n’-shoot.
