If you’ve been thinking of signing on to
Verizon’s V Cast service –complete with video clips, celebrity gossip, and access to the V Cast music store–you now have your choice of two additional models. As of today, the ubiquitous Motorola RAZR V3M and the Samsung SCH-a930 now allow users to purchase and download music from Verizon. The V3M is, of course, a version of Moto’s superslim phone that everyone and their dog seem to be sporting these days. The SCH-a930 features stereo speakers, dedicated music playback keys, and 1.3 megapixel digicam. Expect to pay about $200 for the RAZR and $150 for the a930 (before rebates and with a two-year contract).
Derik’s Thoughts: As much as I like Verizon’s service quality, they’ve really done a disservice to consumers with their phones, purposely disabling features in order to promote sales on their own service. Am I looking to upgrade my phone so I can buy stuff from them? No. Would I be willing to upgrade so I can sync with my computers? Yes.
