The man behind the Google art

I’ve taken to using Google as my holiday calendar. Not via searching, or Google’s Calendar application, but just via the picture at the top of the page. You’ve probably noticed, over the years, that the Google logo changes on notable days from Da Vinci’s birthday (pictured) to Christmas. But who’s behind this artistic endeavor?

Meet Dennis Hwang, 28 years old, and the head webmaster for Google. He’s been working for the company since 2000, when he started as intern. When co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page discovered Hwang had been an art school major, they tapped him to design the different logos, which he’s been doing ever since.
