Linguistic meanderings aside, Motorola has finally released a phone that I might term a “no-brainer.” The V195 is a clamshell with an external display, Bluetooth, speakerphone, and IM support. That’s it. No camera, no mobile web browsing, etc. Simple . This, ladies and gentlemen, is the perfect phone for my dad. And the “my dads” of the world. It goes for $40, and my only regret is that it’s a T-Mobile phone. Still, in a family plan it might not be too bad.
I hope this continues as a trend: I would like it to be possible to buy a phone that, say, doesn’t have a camera in it if I really don’t need one, but that’s tough nowadays. Kudos, Moto, and keep up the good work.
