Are you always tweaking your iTunes playlists’ view options (Command-J or View -> Options) because they don’t show the fields you’d like them to show? Well, here’s a very short and simple hint to fix that issue.
With your Music library selected, open the View Options panel and set the fields you’d like to see. From now on, those same fields will be used when you create a new playlist. That’s it; whatever is set for the global Music library is what will be used as a default for future playlists.
Told you it was short and simple—and yet, I wasn’t aware that iTunes used the global settings when creating a new playlist, so perhaps this hint will help others as well.
