Native Instruments has released an update for its virtual analog synthesizer,
Pro-53. The 3.0.3 update is specifically for Intel Macs, bringing compatibility with the machines for Pro-53 — there is no update available for PowerPC Macs. Once installed users will need a new license code, which can be purchased from Native Instruments for $29. Customers who first registered PRO-53 after September 12th, 2006, are eligible for a free Universal Binary license code. The Pro-53 is modeled after the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5. According to Native Instruments, the synthesizer emulation has been vastly improved by a new oscillator technology that offers an even warmer sound. In addition, the sonic possibilities have been expanded even further with new features like a high-pass filter mode and an invertible filter envelope. The
update is available from the company’s Web site.
