Fractured Software has released Rondo 2.5, an updated version of its MIDI Player and keyboard practice software for Mac OS X. A free upgrade for existing customers, Rondo 2.5 costs $25.
Rondo employs a “piano roll”-style interface to enable aspiring keyboardists who don’t read music to follow the music as it plays. It includes a track filter so you can isolate specific tracks without affecting the audio, along with controls to play, pause, fast forward and rewind music.
New to Rondo 2.5, the software is a Universal binary that runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs alike. It also includes an updated interface, more realistic pianos, note scrubbing, scroll wheel support, playlist folders and drag & drop support in the music library.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later and a G4 or better.
