Members of Apple’s Safari Web Browser team have joined a new HTML Working Group, hosted by the W3 Consortium. The W3C earlier this month invited browser vendors, application developers and content designers to help design the next version of HTML. The group advocates the use of an XML-based format, called XHTML, due to the benefits of XML formats. Three members of Apple’s Safari team have joined and said in a blog post that they are “also stepping up our participation in other W3C working groups and other standards bodies related to web technology.”
