FileMaker developer Crooked Arm has started shipping Gladys 1.0, a utility that automatically monitors FileMaker servers and generates custom notifications.
Database administrators would use Gladys to be notified of access problems with systems or files; instead of being notified by a end-user, the utility would send out a customized notification that a server or a database has gone down. Administrators can configure Gladys to provide notifications via on-screen messages, e-mail, or text messages.
Gladys runs on Mac OS X to monitor FileMaker servers on both Mac and Windows. It costs $199 for a single-user license including five agents; a pro license with an unlimited number of agents costs $499 while a site license is available for $999.
