on Monday announced plans to publish
The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff
for the Macintosh. It’s the first Sims 2 “stuff pack” to be released for the Mac — an add-on that contains new goodies to incorporate into the world of The Sims 2. The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff will cost $19.99 when it’s released in April.
Aspyr has previously released a slew of expansion packs for the original Sims and The Sims 2, two popular strategy games for the Mac that put you in the role of the omnipotent caretaker of a virtual person.
Stuff packs are somewhat different than a full-on expansion pack. While an expansion pack may unlock an entirely new area for your Sim to explore, or a new activity set, such as nightlife or pets, stuff packs contain items that can make your Sims a bit happier and more entertained, such as furniture, clothing and decor. Like expansion packs, Stuff Packs require the full version of The Sims 2 in order to use.
Family Fun Stuff contains items for families and their homes — new furnishings to help make the living room a bit more upscale, new bedroom sets, new matching outfits — more than 60 new items in all.
What’s more, Aspyr has revealed plans to publish other The Sims 2 stuff packs in 2007, with The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff coming this summer, followed by The Sims 2 Happy Holiday Stuff this fall.
