Alesis on Tuesday introduced the iMultiMix 8 USB, an eight-channel all-in-one mixer tha features direct-to-iPod recording. It is scheduled to ship in the third calendar quarter of 2007 for a suggested retail price of $499.
The iMultiMix 8 USB is similar to Alesis’ MultiMix 8, but it’s also equipped with a moutning dock to enable recording directly to any second through fifth-generation iPod. It also features a control wheel.
It sports four high-gain mic.line preamps with XLR and 1/4-inch balanced inputs, 48V phantom power, built-in limiter, 16-bit/44.1kHz and 48kHz recording recording to computer, two guitar mic/line inputs, auxiliary sends and returns, 100 on-board, 28-bit digital effects and three band-per-channel equalizer with high/low shelving and mid-band pass/reject. The device also ships with Steinberg’s Cubase LE recording software.
