Feral Interactive, which first revealed plans to publish a Macintosh version of Lego Star Wars II at Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco this past January, has updated its Web site with more details. The company has revealed that it will ship the Mac version sometime this month.
Lego Star Wars II is based on the original Star Wars trilogy, following the Rebel Alliance’s battle against the Galactic Empire — you participate as Darth Vader pursues Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker rises to claim his role as a Jedi Knight, battle on the Death Star and more. Based on the popular Lego building block toys, the game also features “drop-in/drop-out” cooperative play.
The new “mini-site” posted on Feral’s Web site features screenshots of the game running on the Mac. Feral is currently hosting a “caption competition” which will award the winner a free copy of the game when it ships. You can pre-order the game now — Feral says it will ship on Friday, April 13th — and a demo is coming this Friday, April 5th.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4, G4/1.67 or better (it’s a Universal binary), 3D graphics with 64MB RAM. The full game will require a DVD drive and 3GB hard disk space.
