Karelia Software has released an update to its visual Web page editor Sandvox, bringing it to version 1.1.2. A free update for registered users, Sandvox costs $49 to register (a Pro version with added features costs $79).
Sandvox enables users to create visually rich Web sites with a minimum of effort using templates. The software features support for publishing on any kind of site, drag and drop page assembly, “pagelets” that let you customize content with things like Flickr badges, Digg buttons and more, more than 30 designs, weblog and podcast support, photo sharing and, in its Pro release, raw HTML editing and more advanced features.
New to the 1.1.2 release is an enhanced iMedia browser (for drag and drop support of different media files); improved video file management for QuickTime and WMV-formatted files; faster processing of high-volume photo pages; Web-safe font collection; speed optimizations; and updates to online help.
Karelia also notes that two new companies are offering Sandvox-related content — Blueball Design has published its first commercial Sandvox design, called “Pro Tabs;” and To·The·Point Software is now offering SVDesignMiner, a GUI-based application that can edit or replace Sandvox design elements.
