Quark has released an update to QuarkXPress 7, its desktop publishing software for Mac OS X and Windows. The new 7.2 release is a free update for QuarkXPress 7.01 and 7.02 users.
New to this release of QuarkXPress 7 are basic user interface modifications for the Job Jackes feature. Now you can create new rules directly from a layout evaluation dialog box. As a result, you can create and edit output specs right from the Output job dialog box, and to create new layout specs from the layout menu.
You can also specify resolutions for different types of objects, such as vector graphics, drop shadows and blends. QuarkXPress now supports Kodak’s new Color Management Module (CMM) that adds Black Point Compensation. And the new release also supports Quark’s recently released free Xpert Tools Pro XTensions.
