Envision Peripherals on Thursday introduced a new line of Mac and Windows-compatible LCD displays, priced from $199 to $229 depending on size and capabilities.
The G918w1 is a new widescreen model. It sports 1440 x 900 pixel resolution, 800:1 contrast ratio and 5 millisecond (ms) response time. It features Digital Visual Interface (DVI) with High Definition Copy Protection (HDCP) support, which enables it to play back copy-protected content from high-definition sources that work using DVI-HDCP, such as set-top boxes and HD disc players. It also has an RGB analog connection. The G918w1 costs $219.
The H1781 and H1981 are both conventional 4:3 aspect ratio displays with native resolutions of 1280 x 1024 pixels. They cost $199 and $229 respectively. Both have 700:1 contrast ratios, 5ms response times and 300 cd/m2 typical brightness. Both feature analog RGB (15-pin Dsub) video inputs.
