AlterMedia has announced the debut of Studio Suite 8, a new version of their studio management software based on FileMaker Pro. The software works on Mcs and PCs and costs $749 for the initial license, plus $449 for each additional networked workstation (that cost includes FileMaker Pro 8.5, which is required).
Studio Suite 8 is aimed at video editors, producers and composers who are looking for software to manage their projects. The software automates daily activities with contact management, storage of calls, letters, faxes and more, tracks what happens in individual studio sessions, generate and stores histories of each repair done on each piece of equipment, tracks inventory, generates invoices and more.
New in this release is better security, integration with external software including iCal, Pro Tools, Final Cut Studio and more. It now integrates barcode font support, allows tasks to be assigned to specific employee, projects and sessions, offers quick entry of multiple video reels, integrates task management for projects and much more — a complete list of what’s new in Studio Suite 8 has been posted online.
System requirements call for a Mac that can run FileMaker Pro 85 — G3 or better (including Intel), 256MB RAM, and Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
