Telestream’s Episode scalable media encoder has been updated enabling faster than real-time encoding to all supported media formats, according to the company. Episode Engine will utilize all 8 cores of Apple’s new pro desktop system.
With the new version Telestream included an open architecture, enabling integration with third-party applications. Apple’s Final Cut Studio is the first of such direct integrations. The Final Cut Studio integration provides access to Episode’s array of video and audio file formats directly from within the Final Cut timeline. Episode offers encoding settings for Flash 8, Windows Media and VC-1, as well as broadcast specific formats like GXF, IMX, MPEG-2 4:2:2 and high profile H.264.
Telestream also announced integration with Apple’s Compression 3 encoding tool and the addition of Dashboard widgets to Episode products.
Episode desktop products range from $395-$895. Scalable Episode Engine server products start at $3,500.
