Acqualia has released Picturesque, a utility to help Web content creators get images ready to post on the Web. It costs $19.50, and a free demo is available for download.
Picturesque uses a drag and drop interface, and it’s designed to add special effects like reflections, soft glows, shadows, curves, strokes and fades. The software incorporates batch processing commands and includes Automator actions and AppleScript support. Other features include built-in image scaling for thumbnail creation and save with transparency.
Acqualia said that Picturesque — which measures only 0.96MB as a download — is able to open and change images in less time than it takes to open Photoshop. It’s designed for speed and efficiency.
Picturesque is a Universal binary that requires Mac OS X v10.4 or later.
