Lexmark on Tuesday introduced two new color laser Multi-Function Printers (MFPs) aimed at small businesses and workgroups — the X500n and the X502n. These Mac and PC-compatible devices retail for $499 and $699 respectively.
Both are based on the same core engine. They can print, copy and scan, printing at up to eight Pages Per Minute (PPM) in color and 31 PPM in black and white. The X500n also features a 35-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for unattended copying jobs. The X502n adds faxing capabilities to the mix.
The devices can output at up to 1200 Dots Per Inch (DPI) x 600 DPI. The optical scan resolution is 1200 x 1200 DPI.
With added fax capability, the X502n features up to 70 speed dial connections and speed e-mail shortcuts.
Both printers are network-ready with built-in 10/100baseTX Ethernet, as well as USB 2.0. An optional 530 sheet feeder tray is available.
