Voice Over IP (VOIP) service provider Skype and Intel have announced the Gift of Gab promotion that enables Skype users in the United States and Canada to make calls anywhere in the world for free.
Skype users can call each other for free, but in order to make calls to regular land lines or cell phones, users need to pay for the “SkypeOut” service, a per-minute charge that varies depending on location called. With this promotion, Intel is sponsoring outbound calls on May 13, 2007. The promotion runs from 5:00 AM Eastern Time to 4:59 AM Eastern Time on May 14, 2007.
Skype is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. It’s free to download and use for Skype-to-Skype calls.
