IK Multimedia on Thursday announced that the AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix edition of its software is now shipping.
AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix is a software recreation of the complete guitar amp and effects rig of the legendary guitarist. This version is based on AmpliTube 2 and made in cooperation with Authentic Hendrix, the official family-owned Hendrix foundation.
According to the company, they collected all of the original vintage stomps, amplifiers and cabinets of the same period and tuned the software emulations by ear to achieve realistic and authentic modeling results.
AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix features 9 vintage stomp effects, 4 Rack Effect models, 4 vintage amp models and 7 cabinets. The software is available as a VST, RTAS, AU plug-in and a standalone application.
Compatible with Intel and PowerPC Macs, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix costs $249.
