MacPractice has announced the forthcoming release of MacPractice 3.0, a major new upgrade for its medical and dental practice management software for Mac OS X. It’s coming in the third calendar quarter of 2007.
MacPractice was developed to help dentists, physicians, chiropractors and optometrists to run their businesses from Macs. The software incorporates support for scheduling, e-claims, notes, prescription information, file attachments, electronic medical records and lab work information all into one integrated system.
New to 3.0 is new server-based software that will act as the foundation to future releases of MacPractice EMR, MacPractice Digital Radiography and MacPractice Tooth Chart, all of which are expected to be released in 2007. It will also enable interfaces to more third-party clinical and accounting products.
The new 3.0 release separates accounting data from patient attachments, according to the developers, so you can back up accounting data separately from photos, x-rays, scanned documents and files, which can reside on a separate volume.
The new release also sports significant interface changes, expanded options to create Web interfaces for scheduling and accounting functions, and more.
