Graphisoft has announced the forthcoming release of ArchiCAD 11, a new version of its architectural modeling software for Mac and Windows set to ship in mid-May.
ArchiCAD was designed to provide architects with extensive 2D and 3D modeling capabilities.
ArchiCAD 11 adds a variety of new features including “Virtual Trace,” which lets users create 2D documents and 3D models simultaneously. “Visual Compare” lets you synchronize differences between models. “Interior Elevations” is a new tool used in live model views, and the Worksheet Tool transforms model views into 2D design documents.
Other enhancements include more complex elements geometry, the ability to link construction elements to stories; multistory hotlinked modules; enhanced selection and editing feedback; line work and fill consolidation; better support for long file names; better control and management of Xref files and easier layer navigation; enhanced PDF creation, DWG 2007 file format support, the ability to download and publish content through Google 3D Warehouse, and much more.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later, G5 or Intel, 1GB RAM, 500MB hard disk space, 1280 x 1024 resolution, OpenGL graphics with 64MB VRAM, QuickTime 7 or later.
