IDG World Expo has announced plans to feature the “Video Games Live” concert during E for All Expo. E for All will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from Oct. 18 – 21, 2007, and the Video Games Live concert is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 19, 2007.
E for All is the new consumer-focused video and computer game event developed to replace the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The show is being put together by IDG World Expo, the same coordinators of Macworld Conference & Expo and other tech events.
Video Games Live is a concert featuring music from well-know video and computer games performed before a live audience using a full symphony orchestra and choir along with video footage and exclusive music arrangements, synchronized lighting, solo performers, electronic percussion, live action and interactive segments. It was first performed at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in 2005 and has since played venues around the country.
IDG World Expo indicated this will be the first performance to take place at the new Nokia Center, part of a four-million square foot “LA Live” tourist-oriented entertainment hub now under construction in downtown LA.
Advance ticket holders for E for All will have access to a reserved VIP section and a meet and greet following the performance. Pre-show festivities are planned, including a costume contest where audience members are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite video game characters.
IDG World expo and Macworld publisher Mac Publishing are both business units of International Data Group (IDG).
