Meadows Publishing solutions has announced the release of AutoPrice for QuarkXPress 7.0. AutoPrice helps QuarkXPress users create catalogs using database content.
AutoPrice is a suite of XTensions modules for QuarkXPress that enable Quark documents to connect to an external data source, such as a text file or Open Database Connectivity (ODBC)-compatible database. Users create “placeholders” or “tags” inside of their document, and that tag is tied to a specific database field. The field can contain text, a text box or picture box.
With AutoPrice users don’t have to manually do price changes; it can be used to instantly swap out product pictures, logos or other graphic imagery, and can also be used to generate multiple catalog versions. AutoPrice features reporting capabilities that enable content to be extracted for use in populating a Web site or e-commerce database system, as well.
With the release of AutoPrice for QuarkXPress 7.0, AutoPrice is now a Universal binary that runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs alike.
AutoPrice’s cost is not offered online; users interested in the software are encouraged to call for details. A demo version is available.
